MOFF aim is to make villages and districts self-sufficient in farm products once again as before the British invasion 2 centuries ago. This would avoid the present irony of farmers selling the cereals, pulses, oilseeds, vegetables etc. at poor prices and buying its polished or packaged products processed by the urban industries from the traders at higher price. The market promoted strategy of growing single crop for sales and buying family food materials from the market, often poor in quality, has made farmers malnourished and poor. MOFF would like to rebuild farmers’ self-reliance and resourcefulness.
